In 1997 a new and exciting venture started with the first phase of a Cherry Planting Programme. 500 trees were planted under shade net. This has since expanded to over 2500 trees, approximately 1.8 ha. under shade netting. The Southern Drakensberg's cold and severe winters are ideal for stone fruit production.
The cherry trees blossom in September and are a wonderful sight.
